May 17 to May 24, 2024 | 8 days & 7 nights in Arimatsu-Nagoya| Arashi Shibori & Indigo with Kaei Hayakawa

An 8-day & 7-night Travel for Workshops™ program in Arimatsu-Nagoya curated by Yoshiko I. Wada. This tour’s focus is Japan's last practicing Arashi Shibori artist, Kaei Hayakawa, who will lead a 5-day Arashi and Ai (Sukumo indigo) workshop. Two options, hands-on participation or observation, are available. Maximum 10 participants. 

Join us for this intimate cultural and rare Arashi Shibori experience! Arrive in Nagoya, Japan, on 5/17/2024 in time for a local temple flea market on 5/18. The temple flea market, museums, Nagoya Castle, and Tokoname pottery town visits are your options on May 18. The program ends in Nagoya on 5/24/2024, with an option to continue with Tour 2.

Travel for Workshops Japan Tour 1 Total Cost*: $3000

This amount covers all single occupancy accommodations, local transportation, and most meals–delicious and healthy–to complete your cultural experience (7 Breakfasts, 5 Lunches, and 6 Dinners). Bilingual WSNF programs director, Tomoko Ferguson, will accompany the group throughout the program. If you have a partner to share one bed, contact info[at]shibori.org for a discount.

A 3% fee will be added during checkout for credit card payments.

Slow Fiber Studios is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please contact your local post office with your tracking number to resolve any issues with delivery.

USPS First Class International shipping does not include tracking service. Please use Priority Mail International or higher to guarantee tracking to the destination.

Slow Fiber Studios is not responsible for packages held or confiscated at customs. Customs may delay your package delivery significantly. Some countries may require in-person pickup or charge fees before releasing your package. The customer is responsible for any customs fees. Using Priority Mail International or higher is more likely to expedite your package.
