Technique: Yatara-miura Shibori - Randomly placed soft outlines of small resist-bound shapes. Process illustrations are from the book “Shibori: The Inventive Art of Japanese Shaped Resist Dyeing”  by Wada, Rice, and Barton. (c)1983

Pattern: Chidori - Plover/shorebird. Chidori are often depicted in flight and in their natural habitat by the ocean braving large waves.
