Kaikishibu Powder (Persimmon Tannin)

Regular price $45.00

Tannin from the fruits of Persimmon (mostly Hachiya) was extracted in liquid form and processed into concentrated powder foam for easy handling. The powder is packaged in a smaller 100 gram container as it should be used immediately once opened.

Instructions:
Add water in 1:2 to 1:4 ratio depending on the strength you want to work with. The liquid kakishibu should be used within a day of two. It can be painted with a brush on a  piece of cloth, paper, wood, bamboo or used as a vat of tannin where you dip the material in it.

It is important that the kakishibu surfaces are cured under the bright sun for a minimum of a day or two. Make the solution light and achieve darker shades by repeated process otherwise, the material turns stiff.

All sales are final. No returns or refunds.
