About Us
Based in Berkeley, California, Slow Fiber Studios Shop is a project of Slow Fiber Studios and its sister sites, World Shibori Network and Natural Dye Workshop. We support sustainable traditional and contemporary textile practices by organizing workshops and tours, producing films, and offering rare books and sourced fabrics.
The founder Yoshiko I. Wada has facilitated the exchange of high quality and slow-fiber textiles since the creation of World Shibori Network in Nagoya, Japan in 1992. She is an artist, author, exhibition curator, textile researcher, and film producer. Yoshiko travels throughout the world giving lectures and workshops, and participates in conferences to build greater insight into the world of fiber and textiles.
